LEVEL II - NETWORKING
FOR BIOMED PROFESSIONALS
Are Biomeds prepared for the integration of computer networks into the support of medical equipment used for patient diagnosis and treatment? Those attending these classes will be! Owens Community College School of Technology will offer the Level II Networking for Biomed Professionals Course outlined below in the spring of 2008 at the Toledo Ohio Campus in the ET Building Room 163. Course cost will be $184.50 plus a $10.00 registration fee for a total of $194.50. Out of state registration is available at a slightly higher tuition rate.

COURSE SYNOPSIS:
The course will begin with a second review of network standards and then continue the investigation into health care computer networks. Emphasis is placed on building and troubleshooting the networks including developing an understanding of HL 7 and Dicom network operating systems. Considerable more investigation into LAN design and exploration of HL 7 network operating systems. The Dicom network operating system will be detailed along with troubleshooting advanced LANs, switch, and router configurations.
This course will be using CompTIA Network + Certification published by Thomson Course Technology as the text book. There will be an additional cost of $65.00 for this book. It is not possible for the course to cover the entire text so students who are interested in pursuing the certification exam may do so by 'self-study' and completion of the text following the course.
