We Need Your Help!

OCEA operates because there are a few members who donate their time for the purpose of making the organization function.  These few individuals feel that the success of OCEA is worth a few hours spent each month.  These same individuals envisioned the organization’s overall mission which is, "To improve the quality of patient care and safety by providing our members the opportunity to grow and develop their technical skills in the selection, repair, and support of clinical medical equipment and to promote cooperation through the exchange of information and ideas between members and other organizations."

This small group of member individuals calls themselves, “The OCEA Executive Committee” and provides the backbone for the OCEA organization to function.  They do what they do because they feel it is important work, because it is pursuant to the overall organization mission, and because they find some enjoyment in serving their biomedical and clinical engineering industry colleges in this fashion.

OCEA is a growing Ohio statewide association.  Growth happens as each day passes.  OCEA is nearing a very critical point in this growth and development, the point that will determine the longevity for this association over the next several years.  It is the desire of the current Executive Committee is to watch this growth point come and go with little interruption or fanfare affecting organization function or operation.  In order for this to happen OCEA needs your help!  There is a need for new individuals to step forward and donate some of their time working on behalf of the association so OCEA will continue to flourish.   The organization needs new individuals to serve as committee members.  For example OCEA has several standing committees that make things happen:  Executive Committee, Membership Committee, Program Committee, Finance Committee, Newsletter Committee, Certification Study Committee, and Technical Committee.  All of these committees are in need of some new and additional assistance.  The help that is required to make these committees and OCEA successful in the future now lies in the hands of the general membership.  Please seriously consider becoming an individual who will make the OCEA a clinical engineering association that everyone in our profession will be proud of.
